Artists Spotlight |
Tim Rawlinson: |
Tim Rawlinson’s work has been prominent there since 2012, including his solo show, “Kumano Kudo,” in 2018. Tim Rawlinson’s fascination with the way light passes through glass informs his work. He exploits glass’s transparency as its primary quality through manipulating and distorting both color and form to challenge his viewers’ perception. After casting blown glass components, Rawlinson aims to capture the quality that happens when ink falls into water as the color spreads and flows onto the super-hot liquid, creating fascinating layers of light and refraction. |
Kazuki Takizawa: |
One of his best-known recent works, “Breaking the Silence,” was a metaphor for a person’s breaking point and the juxtaposition between balancing inner struggles with oppressive external forces around you. |
